Introduction
NYS Requirement Qualifications, Kenya National Youth Service (NYS) listed requirements for young Kenyans willing to join the service .
Announcement was made on January Wednesday 10th 2024.
The updates were released after the paramilitary training force got several requests from many Kenyan who wanted to know requirements for the 2024 requirements.
This year’s recruitment exercise will be undertaken in every sub-county across all 47 counties in Kenya as per to NYS notice .
NYS noted it would make a public announcement on the date of recruitment in both print and electronic media platforms.
2024 Qualifications & Requirements for NYS Recruitment
Those who are willing to join NYS must be a Kenyan citizen by birth.
- Any naturalised citizens are not eligible for enrollment.
- It equally announced that Kenyans willing to join the Service must be aged between 18-24 years old.
The above age is in accordance to the vision of NYS which is to be a centre for excellence in transforming, training and empowering the Kenyan youth.
The interested applicants must have attained a minimum grade of D (plain) or its equivalent in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE
All those interested also must be medically and physically fit since this will be checked during the recruitment period.
Attendees to the recruitment exercise must have not been convicted of a criminal offence.
Certificate of good conduct issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is mandatory requirement too.
All the candidates must meet any other qualification that the Director General may prescribe from time to time as updated.
Employment Opportunities for NYS After Training
NYS issued an assurance that young Kenyans that the Service had developed an exit strategy .
This will ensure that that all graduates are recruited after completing the training program.
This assurance is in line with the president William Ruto directive that all the NYS trainees will get employed after training.NYS Requirement Qualifications
