TSC 742 Sacked Teachers Replaced, The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has initiated the process of replacing some of the 742 recently dismissed Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers across the country.

This move comes after a period of uncertainty and dissatisfaction among the affected educators.

In Kisii, some of the pioneering JSS teachers from Asome Pioneer Teachers have been forced to stop reporting to their schools.

The TSC has replaced them with new teachers, causing disruption to both their professional and personal lives.

This change took place two weeks after JSS teachers had resumed classes while awaiting confirmation from their employer.

Personal Impact on Teachers

Several affected teachers have highlighted the severe consequences of these dismissals in Bomachoge Chache and South Mugirango in Kisii County.

In Ikoba, Bomachoge Chache, 33-year-old Kerubo shared her despair after being barred from returning to her school.

Although she was a pioneering JSS teacher, she has been confined to her home for three days, struggling to cope with the unexpected directive.

“We were on an industrial strike and returned after re-tooling, but the head teacher told my friends and me that we shouldn’t report back to school,” she said.

Kerubo’s situation is dire; she lives in a single room, relying on leftover food and sugarcane for sustenance.

She urged the government to address her plight and that of her colleagues, many of whom are primary breadwinners for their families.

“The Teachers Service Commission should observe transparency… now I have been fired, and I have a child to send to school. How will I manage this?” she lamented.

The replacement of dismissed JSS teachers by TSC has stirred significant concern among educators and stakeholders.

With calls for reinstatement and potential legal action looming, this situation underscores the challenges faced by teachers and the implications for the education system in Kenya.
