TSC latest JSS teachers Deployment

Latest revelation indicated shows that the commission has now lowered the requirements for deployment to junior secondary.

Such a move I meant to allow teachers with pre-university qualifications to submit applications.

As per to the Commission ,all practicing P1 teachers who got pre-university qualification on or before 31st December, 2015 should be considered for deployment to junior secondary.

As a result, those teachers who joined university with KCSE mean grade of C (plain).

However, those who did bridging course before pursuing degree are qualified to teach learners in Grade 7,8 and 9 learners.

With the current teacher shortage , TSC is expected to lower the requirements to allow primary school teachers with other Diploma and Degree certificates like those with primary option.

Here are the requirements:

  6. Which are currently being offered in the school curriculum (either under 8-4-4 or CBC) or two (2) principles and one (1) subsidiary pass at “A” Level.
  7. All the teachers with a minimum of C (plain) at KCSE (or its equivalent).
  8. They must have undertaken a Diploma in Education together with a Bachelor Degree in Education qualify.
